Step-by-step for a flower illustration frame

Equipment:

  • Bottles of Primacolor liquid: yellow (no. 48), pink (no. 34), bright orange (no. 32), light green (no. 43) and carmine (no. 18)
  • Gouache varnish spray
  • Paintbrushes
  • A flower illustration for colouring downloaded from www.cocolico-creations.com and printed on thick paper
  • 2 sheets of A4 card
  • 1 pencil, a ruler
  • Scissors, a utility knife
  • Tape, glue
  • A piece of string (25 cm)

Step 1

Step 1: colouring - start painting the background (yellow) - then the leaves (green) - the petals (pink and orange) - and finally the hearts of the flowers and small circles (red).

Step 2

Step 2: preparing the frame - draw a 3.5 cm border on one of the cards - cut it using the utility knife (to be done by an adult) - paint the frame red

Step 3

Step 3: varnishing and assembly - when the paint is fully dry, spray a coat of varnish on the drawing and the frame (preferably do this outdoors). Leave it to dry. On the second card tape the string to the two ends (4 pieces of tape). Glue the drawing onto the card (string on back). Glue the frame on the drawing.
