Create a “Happy” T-shirt

For this project you will need:

  • A grey t-shirt
  • A bottle of Setacolor Suede Effect Antique White
  • A bottle of Setacolor Suede Effect Orange Zest
  • A bottle of Setacolor Opaque Shimmer Rich Gold
  • A pencil with an eraser at the end
  • A piece of self-adhesive paper
  • A plastic sheet
  • An iron

Using large letters, print or design the word HAPPY on the self-adhesive paper and then cut out the letters to create a stencil.

Place the paper so that is in the center of the front of the shirt, and then place a piece of plastic inside the shirt to prevent the paint from staining the back.

To create the spots of colour, use the eraser at the end of the pencil and gently dip it into to lid of the bottle of the desired colour. This allows you to have better control of the paint.

Fill each letter with the different colours as desired, apply the Shimmer Rich Gold to the top of the letters, fill in the middle of the letters with the Antique White paint and finally finish by using the colour Orange Zest. The idea is to make a gradient effect by mixing the colours between the letters.

Once the letters have been painted as desired, add a few spots of Shimmer Rich Gold paint above the letters.

Once this is complete, allow to dry for at least two hours then using a damp cloth iron over the design for 5 minutes to completely set the paint. The heat of the iron will create a dimensional suede effect to the spots where Setacolor Suede Effect was used.
