Their role is to:
- Provide the opacity needed to enable the paint film to cover the surface to be painted. However, all pigments do not provide opacity to the paint in which they are embedded, depending on their size and their refraction index.
- Provide the shade.
- Other properties (anti-corrosion, ...).
The pigments are more resistant to our fine range of paints, although some less permanent pigments can be incorporated when they are relevant to their grade level (see, understanding our labels to describe the resistance to light and opacity).
The pigments are insoluble in the uniform medium in which they mixed, as opposed to dyes which are soluble.
