Gouache en poudre et marqueurs skrib
Materials :
You will need:
  • Drying time: 30 minutes

  • Time to make: 15 minutes for each bookmark
  • Difficulty: medium - age 5 and up

Gouache en poudre
Prepare your liquid gouache:
  • In a jar, mix 2 spoonfuls of gouache powder with 4 spoonfuls of water. Close the jar tightly.
  • Shake well for 30 seconds so that everything mixes together.
  • Let stand for 3 minutes.
  • Shake for another 30 seconds. Your liquid gouache is now ready.
  • Make several different colours to create your own individual designs.
Diluer la gouache en poudre
Make your bubble paint:
  • To a cup, add 3 spoonfuls of paint and 2 spoonfuls of water and then add 6 drops of washing-up liquid.
  • Mix everything with a stick.
  • (Add 1 more spoonful of water if the mixture is too thick. The more the mixture is diluted, the less visible the bubbles will be.)

Gouache bleue
Create your paint bubbles:
  • Use a straw to blow into the paint to create bubbles that rise above the rim of the cup. Protect your table by covering it with a tablecloth and your clothes with an apron, as the process can throw small drips of paint everywhere!
Impression de gouache bleue
Print your bubbles onto the paper:
  • Place a sheet of paper over the top of the cup, so that the bubbles of paint print onto the back. Remove the paper and let it dry flat.

Using more colours:
  • Create other colours in other cups and add different colours of bubbles to your paper. You could even mix the powders to create new colours. Here we have created a turquoise by mixing blue, green and white.

Finish up your drawing:
  • Using the Skrib markers, draw whatever takes your fancy over the bubbles. These are our ideas:
  • We've created a tree, a field of flowers, dandelions, butterflies and fish swimming in the ocean, all created using bubbles of different colours.
  • You could also choose to leave the bubbles as they are if you like their abstract design!

Add the finishing touches to your bookmarks:
  • Punch a hole at the top of each bookmark and slip a pretty piece of string through.
